Kitchen
37 Valley View Cottage offers two bedrooms and two bathrooms on the ground floor. The kitchen is fully equipped with a dining area, and the living room has a cozy sofa. Beds have electric blankets for cold nights. Showers are powerful. Guests noted thoughtful extras like milk and biscuits. The kitchen has a spacious layout, but note that there is no central heating-firewood must be bought for the fireplace in winter.
Dining
There is no on-site restaurant. The cottage is for self-catering, with a fully equipped kitchen including a dining table. For supplies, Underberg town is a short drive and has shops to buy groceries. Guests can use the barbecue facilities in the garden for outdoor cooking.
Leisure
The property has a garden and terrace with mountain views. An outdoor fireplace and seating area are available for relaxing. Guests can use the BBQ facilities. The garden is large, and the view from the picture window and garden is described as incredible. Board games and puzzles are available for indoor entertainment.
Location
The cottage is located on a quiet street in Underberg, 100 km from Pietermaritzburg Airport. It offers scenic views of the surrounding mountains and easy access to Sani Pass and environs. Underberg is a bustling town that can provide most needs. The road to the cottage is rough and unpaved; a 4x4 is recommended but a careful driver in a regular car can manage.
Services
Free WiFi is provided, but guests have noted it is erratic. The property offers private check-in and check-out, luggage storage, and free on-site parking (including garage). There is 24-hour security with key access, fire extinguishers, and a security alarm. The host communicates well online.
“What stands out here is the remarkable stillness, coupled with truly expansive mountain vistas best appreciated from the patio. The cottage itself feels remarkably well-equipped, designed for comfort and purpose, echoing a genuine sense of home, even down to thoughtful extras that enhance the stay.”
