GOODERSON BUSHLANDS GAME LODGE - Hluhluwe Hotels

Accommodations include the Nyala Lodge, Impala Lodge, and self-catering chalets. Wooden cabins and chalets feature air conditioning, private bathrooms with showers, and kitchens in self-catering units. Some units have a patio with a braai stand and overlook the swimming pool or bush. Rooms are connected to the bar and pool via wooden walkways. Each unit has a kettle, fridge, and basic utensils. Bedding is provided, and towels are available.

The lodge restaurant serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Buffet dinners offer a variety of dishes, and the bar stocks basic beers and alcohol. Special diet menus are available on request. Self-catering guests can pre-book dinner at a surcharge. BBQ facilities and an outdoor braai area are provided. The bar area includes a shared lounge and TV. Bush babies are fed nightly near the restaurant.

An outdoor swimming pool (shallow end, open all year) with sun loungers is available. Game drives, guided walks, and tours of local culture are offered at extra cost. The Nyala Trail is a walking route through the bush. A viewing deck overlooks the watering hole. Wildlife such as nyala, giraffe, zebra, and warthogs roam the grounds. The property also has a garden, outdoor fireplace, and BBQ facilities.

Gooderson Bushlands Game Lodge is a short drive from Durban and borders national parkland. It is near Hluhluwe-iMfolozi Game Reserve, Isimangaliso Wetland Park, and the DumaZulu Cultural Village. Access is via gravel roads (no lights at night); a vehicle with good ground clearance is recommended. The lodge is close to Hluhluwe town, snake park, and cheetah rescue centre. Public transport is not available on-site.

Services include daily housekeeping, laundry and ironing, safety deposit boxes, and packed lunches. Free parking and WiFi (with variable connectivity) are provided. CCTV and key access are in place for security. Guests can use the shared lounge/TV area. A night security guard patrols the grounds. The reception can arrange game drives and cultural tours at additional cost.
