Rooms in Four Lodges
The reserve has African-themed rooms in four lodges: Paperbark Lodge, Leadwood Lodge, and others. All rooms include air-conditioning and en suite bathrooms. Leadwood cottages are adults-only and feature outdoor showers. Some rooms overlook the dam or river. Family rooms are available at Paperbark.
Two Restaurants On-Site
Two restaurants serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The menu offers special diet options and kids' meals. Breakfast is included for overnight guests. Guests recommend the lamb curry, steak, and hand-cut chips. Bar service is available at both restaurants.
Game Drives and Activities
Daily 2-hour game drives in open vehicles are led by trained rangers. The 3000-hectare reserve has plains game including rhino, giraffe, zebra, and wildebeest. Other activities include fishing, mountain biking, archery, paintball, and bush walks. An outdoor swimming pool with a water slide, BBQ facilities, and a picnic area are available.
Location Near Durban
The reserve is 30 km from Pietermaritzburg and 70 km from Durban. King Shaka International Airport is 100 km away. The N3 highway provides access. Self-driving is recommended; roads can be slippery after rain.

24-hour security, daily housekeeping, and a shared lounge/TV area are included. Meeting and banquet facilities are available for events. Free parking and accessible parking are provided.
